As a religious system, Islam emerged as a monotheistic faith in the cities of Mecca and Medina, where it introduced a comprehensive framework of legal and ethical principles aimed at governing all aspects of personal and communal life.
Prophet Muhammad life
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) occupies a central and revered position within Islamic tradition as the final prophet. He was entrusted with the monumental task of conveying the message of monotheism, advocating for the worship of one God (Allah), and establishing a holistic way of life grounded in divine guidance. His life and teachings have left an indelible mark on the spiritual, moral, and socio-political landscape of Islamic civilization, shaping the beliefs and practices of millions worldwide.
Muhammad ibn Abdullah was born in 570 CE in Mecca, a thriving trade city in the Arabian Peninsula known for its economic significance and cultural heritage. His lineage can be traced back to the noble Quraysh tribe, specifically the Hashimite clan, which was distinguished for its historical custodianship of the Kaaba. This sacred site attracts pilgrims from all over the world. Tragically, Muhammad's father, Abdullah, passed away before his birth, leaving him to be raised by his mother, Amina. However, she, too, died when he was only six years old, leaving him orphaned at a tender age. As a result, he was brought up by his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, and later by his uncle, Abu Talib, who played significant roles in nurturing his character and values.
Even before he received his prophetic calling, Muhammad was widely regarded for his exceptional integrity and upright character. Due to his consistently honest dealings in trade and everyday interactions, he earned the titles of Al-Amin (the Trustworthy) and As-Sadiq (the Truthful). At 25, Muhammad married Khadijah, a prosperous widow who was 15 years old and his senior. Their union was marked by mutual respect and support, and Khadijah played a critical role in his life.
